🌲 The Adventure

This is not a tour. It’s an invitation to step into Europe’s last remnant of primeval temperate rainforest - a place where prehistoric rhododendrons bloom in jungle‑like valleys, where Thracian sanctuaries hide in ancient oaks, and where villagers still dance barefoot on glowing coals to honor saints older than Christianity.

For five days, you’ll walk with scientists, paddle through pristine river canyons, taste honey made from oak sap, and stay in villages where time seems to have stopped. You’ll leave with more than photos; you’ll carry stories, skills, and a deep sense of belonging to a wilder Europe.

Your guides:

  • Botanist - reveals how Strandzha’s unique Colchian flora survived the Ice Age and why it exists nowhere else in Europe.
  • Chiropterologist - takes you into Maharata cave to meet local bat species and explain their crucial role in the forest.
  • Thracian site guide - brings to life the ancient cult complexes where rituals were performed for milennia.
  • Tour leader - handles all logistics so you can simply be present.

  • Stand where Thracian priests stood - cult complexes, tombs, sacred springs
